Monopoly Hype in Singapore

The recent launch of Monopoly Singapore by McDonald had caused a Monopoly hype, at least in NUS and my lab.
What we need to do is to order McD's meal to collect the label stickers. Each meal gives 4 labels, and you double you chances to 8 labels if the meal is up-sized.
Sounds simple, but it's not.
I have eaten for up-sized meals, enough to fill up a few maps and still have extras. But I have yet to get any of the rare pieces, namely,
  • Toa Payoh (M114) - $200 Toys ‘R’ Us vouchers
  • Joo Chiat Road (M112) - 32Gb Touchscreen MP3 Player
  • Thomson Road (M118) - $400 Jetstar.com Travel Voucher
  • Tanjong Rhu (M121) - 2N Malacca/KL Cruise for 4 Persons
  • Scotts Road (M127) - 100,000 Esso Smiles Points
  • Shenton Way (M122) - Courts Prizes worth $3000 each
  • Orchard Road (M129) - 7D Hawaii Fly Cruise for 4 Persons
  • Sentosa Cove (M132) - $50,000 Cash

I already have 1 map in my lab, and 2 maps at home. Hopefully I can win something this time...
Finger-crossed. =)

With so many people spending the extra $0.50 to up-sized their meals, who do you think the final winner will be?
I bet it will be Ronald...

Add Facebook Video to Your Blog

Facebook video sharing is good 'cos it notifies everyone in your network everytime you upload a new video or is tagged in a video. But unlike YouTube and many other video sharing sites, Facebook doesn’t provide an embed code for their videos.
That kinda troubles me for sometime, for I have to upload the same video to both Facebook and Youtube, one mainly for commenting, the other one mainly for embedding in blog.

Then, after some keyword search with Google, I found the solution to my problem.

Every video uploaded on Facebook has a unique ID that you can find in the browser’s address bar. Copy that number and replace it with xxx in the code below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
<object width="400" height="224" >
<param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" />
<param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" />
<param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/xxx" />
<embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/xxx"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
allowscriptaccess="always"
allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="224">
</embed>
</object>
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Now I can embed that facebook video in any web page, like what I did with the video in my previous post.
That is until Facebook identify this act as an violation of some rules and disallow this way of embedding. =)

Malaysian-KEVIIans '05 Dim Sum Gathering

A Dim Sum Buffet Gathering for the Malaysian-KEVIIans of 2005 at Dragon Gate Restaurant, initiated by Charlie.
Initial confirmed no. of ppl coming was 7.
Then after some persuasion and/or sarcasm and/or 发烂炸ism, the number of people present on that day doubled.

Anyway, it has been quite some time since we last met. Mainly because many of us no longer stay in hall after year 2, or graduated after year 3. Many of us seems to have put on some weight. Either because life outside is more comfortable, or life in hall is more stressful, that I do not know.
Nice to catch up with you all. Also good to hear that, despite the economic crisis, all of us have manage to secure a job. =)
Let's meet up again some other day.

-----------------------------------------------
Not sure if it is just me, but I think the dim sum at Dragon Gate isn't as nice as the last time I went with Float Design Team.
-----------------------------------------------
Dragon Gate (HarbourFront Centre) is a member of the Starling Group of Restaurant, which also includes Orient Ocean (Hotel Miramar), and River City (Excelsior Hotel).

Lets Make Our World The Most Beautiful Home

Simple song, with a meaningful message.

Love the effect of sketching the modern environment out of the old.

The advertisement hit the local media hard, TV, newspapers, radios...
And it did make me wanna go to Hort Park to take a glimpse at the event.
Too bad my lazy bug won the battle over my curiosity and temptation last weekend.

But I think I will go down next year, if it is still at Hort Park. And maybe walk the Southern Ridge to Alexandra Arch and Henderson Waves again.

Living in 2009

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2009 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2 You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

14. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list

15. AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.
