Dance Uncensored '09
hip hop, lyrical jazz, swing, traditional
King Edward 'THE SEVEN' Hall!
3)EMCC (Exxon Mobil Campus Concert)
Booklet quality
UCC Theatre
4)Production Crew
FOH:
Matric Card
Stage:
cue走了,lights还没in
Stage
而且不是dim out,是directly black out的
BackStage:

Farewell, Siou Ting..
It has been few days since she left for Malaysia.
And it really doesn't feel the same anymore, without her laugher and voice.
I wonder how the lab will be after all of us leave..
Shan Shan, Edwin, Norman, Seng Wee & I, the attachment students leaving after we completed our Honours/UROPS attachment
Sun Bo & Kian Hong most likely leaving in a year's time after they completed their PhD
Then the lab will be left with the Post Doc, Yifeng, Yuki & Kazue, and of cos Boss, Dr Ito...
Well, I guess it's a cycle that every lab faces.
Students come, students go...
A last group photo of my whole lab, with Siou Ting(from left: Yifeng, Yuki, Dr Ito, Kian Hong, Seng Wee, Siou Ting, Me, Shan Shan, Edwin, Sun Bo, Norman)

Can't help it.
Take away Saturday and Sunday, there are only 10 school days
to the date I would be flying back to Land of Kolomee.
Woo hoo!
Kolomee, Laksa, Char Kueh Teow, Kueh Chap.. Wait for me..
I'm coming home again.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday went to John Little Sales at Expo with Shin, Kane, Ellen & Charlie.
To surprisingly, it isn't as crowded as I thought, as compared to those PC fair like, COMEX.
Well.. maybe everyone came during the 1st two days to buy all the goodies.
Unlike PC fair, where you can bargain for cheaper price and more freebies on the last days especially when it is about to close,
In this kind of John Little or Robinson sales, going later doesn't benefit at all.
In fact, all the common sizes will be snatched by the early birds, leaving behind clothes that are either too big or too small for average Asian man.
I bought 2 shirts, undies, socks, and swimwear + 2 Famous Amos cookies.
Now left with a pair of shoes to buy, and maybe one more shirt and that's it for New Year.*My last pair of shoes was badly infested with ants in the cracks on the sole, over the holiday that I have to throw them away...
Gonna control my buying for the next semester...
Just the thought of having to move all the stuff by the end of the sem exhausts me..

Back from E712 to E713
To those who frequent my blog, a sincere apology to all of you.
I just move back to my room few days back.
But this time, I dun bother to unpack my stuff.
Just one more sem in KE7, I dun wanna go through all the process of packing again..
This December holiday is not a very boring holiday, but it is a very slack holiday. So slack that I dun even wanna blog.
With so many free time to slowly do things.. which finally resulted in not accomplishing anything. =)
Looking back, this is the first time I spent my Dec holiday this way.
In my Year 1 & 2, I was busy all over with XQRJ
Year 3, I was back at home, preparing for my semester of Exchange Studies in Sweden.
This holiday, though I still wake up ~9am,
I just nua & nua, til 10+am...
watch a few episodes of anime..
surf net randomly..
catch a few mice..
all the way til noon...
and finally have a brunch before setting off for lab to do my FYP.
then at night, its anime, random websites & blogs, and mice again..
and the cycle repeats itself everyday...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
School is starting tomorrow...
At this will be my last semester in NUS..

Panda KILLER!!!
Someone killed my Panda...
Taking only 3 modules this sem, I have comparatively less stuff to prepare for exams.
but no matter how much time I 'may' have during term time,
it still end up in the SAME situation: study last minute...
I think it has become an axiom, a truth taken for granted, a cycle every student faces every sem...
This is the 6th day I wake up at 7.40am'Nua' til 8.20am
brush & wash up to go down for breakfast at 8.30am
then take either the 8.45 or 9am bus to Biz Library to return my overnight-loaned RBR book.
not bringing my biggest distraction... my Laptop...
Compared to the Science Library, the Biz Library really have much less people,
which make it a very conducive place for me to study.
But dunno if it's just me, but I personally find that ppl there have less sense...
in the sense that some can talk in their normal voice in the study area.
some can chat thru the handphone at a not-so-corner corner.
some will talk aloud in the opened printing room, allowing his conversation to slip through the open door.
etc.
Dunno la.. i prefer the 2 weekends where I spent my time in a not-so-many-people Biz Lib...
less distractions...

Exam Supper!!!
Even though the dishes are forever the same, I still love them.
Eclair
Swiss roll
Curry puff
Fruity cream tart
etc...
Yummy...
How nice it would be if we can have this kind of supper more frequently. =)
----------------------------------------------------------------
I must say I have not seen so many ppl in the dining hall at the same time since a long time ago.
Look at the queue!!
From the dining counter all the way to the entrance, and this is taken at 10.15pm..
Sure reminds me of the time I queue to enter the Vatican Museum...
And all this queuing once again ignite my desire to set up an experiment to test my hypothesis: "People in Singapore love to queue"had been rehearsing this experiment in my mind many many times..
1. find a few bo-liao friends
2. find a place with many walking crowds
3. stand in the middle of no where and start queuing
4. observe if anybody will queue behind us blindly thinking that some company is giving out freebies
-_-|||
----------------------------------------------------------------
Surprisingly, a comm which I had always recognize as 'slacker comm' really make me 另眼相看tonight.
The efficiency and the fairness in serving the food had ensure no hungry KEVIIan leave the dining hall disappointed.
2 thumbs up, Welfare Comm!
Hope to see more initiatives from you all!

XQRJ: NUS Student Achievement Awards
Finally 心情溶剂 (aka Xin Qing Rong Ji, XQRJ) had finally gotten its recognition from the University.
Still remember, just few years back, XQRJ doesn't really have a say in hall.
And now, it is a model for study for many CCAs, an activity recognized by Hall Master and the SCRC, and that almost all freshmen know is the best in KE7.
Things had changed. And I am happy for you, 心情溶剂, a place where I can call home.
NUS Student Achievement Awards @ Sheraton Towers
Signing in

The first Student Achievement Awards won by 心情溶剂 for King Edward VII Hall.
A moment that I will cherish forever

(Najib ready to end special privileges for Malays)

My Lab Space
Usually at the beginning of the week, this is how my working area in my lab looks.
Before I start my experiments for the week...
Table wiped with 70% Ethanol to kill microbes, eg: bacteria.
My own set of pipettes placed at a side.
My 'sort of personal'* PCR machine switched off to save energy.
When I start to work,
you see used C-fold towel and gloves here n threre,
pipette tips sometime missing the autoclave bag and left lying on the workbench,
pipettes of different volume lying over the place,
all kind of solution (wash/elution buffer, LB, etc) accidentally dripping on the bench, or even worse on my lab log book..
And by the end of the week...
This is how my workbench looks
Then why the tidying and cleaning at the end of the week, when you gonna mess it up the following week?!?
Well.. I just want to feel as if someone had clean it for me, to welcome me back for another week of hectic lab life...
I guess it's the same as leaving a light on when you go to work, so that you can feel as if someone is waiting for you to welcome you when you are back...
Just a way of 自我安慰...
